I did it! I ran my first 10k!! ok I also walked a lot, lol. It was a mud race,The Dirty Dash, we were gonna do the 5k but ended up doing the 10k just for fun, I had a blast!! I am definitely doing this again. The race is more for fun than for actual running but it is a workout, pretty sore today from it. If you ever have the opportunity of running a mud race, do it!!

Mi brother was here for over a week and I’ve been eating pretty bad, whenever my family comes to visit my diet goes out the window because they want to eat out and I try to pick the best options but even those are pretty bad.
My brother left yesterday so starting tomorrow is back to real food and P90X. I think I’m gonna start it again and combine it with some insanity. I am still training for my 5k on June 2nd (yay!) and I’m confident that I’ll finish and have fun doing it!
At least while my brother was here I hiked and walked a lot, I did workout a little but not this week, feel pretty bad about that, but tomorrow I’ll get back into it! :)
I am so excited for this weekend!! My brother is visiting from Mexico and we are going to spend the weekend in one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to,
Moab,Utah.
We’re going hiking during the day,I’ll burn lots of calories, those trails are tough!! and after a long day I’m looking forward to get in the hot tub and relaaax… then I’ll do some shopping!! :D Can’t wait to spend an awesome weekend with my family and friends.Yay for weekends!! happy trails!!

Raw cucumber slices with avocado on top. They’re sooo good, you have to try them!

Today is my rest day, I’ve started feeling weird about not working out but I know my body needs a day off. It happens to be Saturday (yay!) so I’ve decided to reward myself for all my hard work, all that I’ve learned and how far I’ve come in my fitness journey, I still have a long way to go but it’s nice to look back and be proud! As my reward I’m getting a haircut, buying a pair of shoes and some workout cloths. I’m excited!
I weighed myself this morning and I am 111.6 lbs I’ve decided to change my diet a bit, because I noticed I was eating too many carbs and not enough protein, I stopped drinking my protein shake because it’s not real food, however I feel I need it if I want to make some muscle!! I started drinking it again about 5 days ago, along with more chicken and meat and watching my carb intake. Last week I was at 111.1 lbs so I really hope that the little weight gain is muscle, it could be just water though. I will try to keep better track of my progress, but today I rest and tomorrow is my running day! yay! I’m also doing a core workout!
Happy Saturday!!
Love this!
Look what came in the mail!! No more hurting my hands with the dumbbells and pull up bar!! These fitness gloves are not only necessary but they are super cute!! I ordered them from Femme Fitale, they have different colors and designs, all very girly! They came gift wrapped in this adorable leopard print paper and a pink bow, what more can a girl ask for? I ordered the black and pink ones with crystal accents, Love them!! Go check them out at www.femmefitalefitness.com ;)
I am completely obsessed with these bars!!! They are amazing!! They’re completely natural, no added sugars or preservatives and they are delicious!!
My favorite so far is the pecan pie (only 3 ingredients!) and the chocolate chip brownie. SO GOOD!
This weekend I did a three day detox. I wanted to let my body get rid of all the bad stuff, flush away all those chemicals and toxins (and God knows what else) from processed foods that I’ve been eating for so long! today has been my last day and I am happy with the results. I wasn’t sure if I would notice any difference but this morning I looked at myself in the mirror and what do you know, a flat belly!! or at least flatter! Even my husband noticed it without me saying anything! It was worth it and now I am motivated to keep eating healthy, real, delicious food. Here’s what I did:
Day 1: Ate a vegetarian diet, no animal products, I had a green juice for breakfast that included broccoli, kale, green apples, cucumber, celery and some carrots, I also added some flax seeds and chia seeds. I had a snack of walnuts, cranberries and some granola. For lunch I made an orange, raspberry and walnut salad and finally I had a carrot and potato curry rice bowl for dinner and a raspberry herbal tea right before bed. I drank twice as much water as I normally do.
Day 2: For breakfast I had a juice that included beet, celery, pineapple, oranges and carrots I also added flax seeds and chia seeds. I snacked on an apple and then I had grilled chicken with potatoes, carrots and a green salad for lunch. I had a snack of walnuts and dried cranberries, a fruit salad for dinner and a raspberry herbal tea before bed. I drank twice as much water during the day as I normally do.
Day 3: I had granola with almond milk and half a banana for breakfast. For lunch I had grilled chicken and a green salad, later I had a chocolate all natural LARa Bar and a green apple. For dinner home made chicken nuggets, a baked potato and some watermelon. I’ll drink a herbal tea before bed and if I get hungry I’ll have a banana. I drank a lot of water, not as much as the first couple of days to be honest, but I’m trying to catch up now.
To keep me motivated I ran outside, I went to this really cute park by my apartment and spent some time with myself, walking, listening to my favorite tunes, praying and just taking some time to look around and see how much beauty there is! I enjoyed it so much that I might make it my Saturday morning tradition. I also took a walk at night with my husband and enjoyed his company so much. I was relaxed and felt great during this detox. I would definitely recommend!

I love cheese burgers. More specifically Big Macs. I had to have those delicious, processed, fake meals at McDonald’s at least twice a week; they made me happy while eating them and miserable after but I kept coming back for more, my husband even started calling me his Big Mac girl.
When I began my fitness journey three years ago, I was doing it for all the wrong reasons, so I kept doing the minimum and expecting great results. Results never came. I was working out twice a week and eating horrible, I thought I was entitled to my Big Macs (fries and soda with that of course) since I was working so hard at the gym (ha!). I soon realized that I was doing it wrong and began to change, I became passionate about exercise and began working out four to six times a week and was excited about eating healthy but it wasn’t until recently that I finally figured out what kind of diet I wanted to follow. I looked into different diets, even considered being a vegetarian but decided against it. I began learning about all the damaging chemicals that are found in the food we eat and now I know why there’s so many people sick with cancer and diabetes, we are slowly poisoning our bodies to death. I will no longer hurt my body by eating processed food so I’ve decided to eat real food instead.
I will try to make most of my meals from scratch, no more short cuts! I will read all the ingredients in the foods that I buy and make sure it has only around five ingredients and that they are healthy to my body. I will buy organic produce, local when I can get it and meat and poultry that are humane raised and grass fed. I have already made some changes in my diet moving towards eating real food, but it’s a process, I am excited for the day I get to say I’m completely free from processed foods. As for my Big Mac addiction, I am happy to say that I haven’t had one in at least five months; I am no longer a big mac girl.

This weekend I watched “Hungry for change”, it is a really good movie that talks about how dieting is not the solution to obesity but healthy eating is. You can watch it for free until march 31st (www.hungryforchange.tv).
One of the things they talk about is juicing. So after watching the movie I decided to invest on a juicer. I bought a Jack Lalanne juicer for around 100 dollars at Costco and so far I love it!! It came with a recipe book so that was a nice plus. Last night me and my husband made a “vampire juice” (it’s called like that because it’s red.) it has oranges, carrots, beet, pineapple and parsley and it is delicious!! I was a little worried about the taste but once I tried it I couldn’t stop drinking it. The cool thing about drinking juice is that it makes it so much easier to eat your fruits and veggies, I drank about two cups of our “vampire juice” so I ended up consuming three carrots, half a pineapple, one beet and three oranges! I feel healthy just thinking about it!!
Here are some of the benefits of juicing:
1. Increased energy.
2. Faster nutrient absorption.
3. Detoxification.
4. Weight loss.
5. Vitamins!
You can also boost your juice by adding flax seeds, spirulina, chia seeds or any other super foods you can think of!
Let’s get juicing!! :)

SO TRUE!!
It’s great to see so many people wanting to loose weight and get fit!! However I would like to say that there are a lot better reasons to be fit than looking “hot”. To me, that is just a really nice bonus. Sure I want to look good and have awesome abs, but more than that I want to be healthy, feel young and be active for a long, long time! Looking for motivation is great, but we ought to stop comparing ourselves to others, don’t you think? Let’s just train hard, eat clean and everything else will fall into place. Besides every body is different, my six pack (not that I have one) won’t look like your six pack. To quote Tony Horton “Do your best and forget the rest!”
So let’s put the dumbbells down for a minute and think of why we’re doing this. You know, torturing ourselves by NOT eating what we want and being in pain pretty much every day. For me it’s the challenge, I love pushing myself and being disciplined, it motivates me!! Being healthy too, I want to be sixty, seventy, eighty years old and still feel and look amazing! and yes I want a six pack too! and there’s nothing wrong with that, but let’s keep our priorities straight.
:)
I am not working out today, I’m sick. Nothing bad just a cold, however, past experiences have taught me that sometimes slowing down is just as important as pushing yourself. I’m being smart and staying home this windy Saturday and I’m starting strong and healthy again on Monday.
I am, however making some sassy water! and drinking that during the day.
Here’s the recipe:
8. 5 CUPS WATER
1 TSP/ GRATED GINGER
1 MED. CUCUMBER
1 MEDIUM LEMON
12 SPEARMINT LEAVES
COMBINE EVERYTHING AND LET IT STAND IN FRIDGE OVERNIGHT. DRINK ALL WATER THROUGHOUT NEXT DAY.
This is the first time I’m trying this, it’s suppose to help you get a flat belly. Sounds like it’s pretty tasty too! Can’t wait to try it.
